How to update your phone's firmware

Nokia regularly release new firmware updates for their s60 phones. Generally they bring better battery life, free features, improvement and bug fixes. It's very easy to update your phone's firmware.
First of all you need to download Nokia Software Updater and install it.
After that you should connect your phone to your PC. And then you should backup your data using Nokia PC Suite. Some phone will be restored to it's original factory settings, some phone didn't.
You should not forget to plug in your charger. It's very important.
After all set, you should start your Nokia Software Updater. Follow the instructions and voila.. All done..
After you've done upgrading, you can restore your backup.

Several Nokia s60 devices has a built in GPS receiver and a built in Nokia Maps application. Nokia Maps is a good navigation program, it's lightweight, fast and accurate. But a built in Nokia Maps usually don't come with navigation license, or limited only for 3 months of free navigation. If you want to have a voice navigation on your phone then u should buy the license from Nokia. It's quite expensive though.

You must signed the file, or if u've already hacked your phone, than just install it.

How to install unsigned applications

Symbian s60 3rd edition operating system has some sort of security procedure that makes you unable to install unsigned applications...
some hacked applications are in unsigned condition..
so how to install that?
there are several ways to do that..
first one you have to signed the application by yourself.. u should have developer certificate to sign the application..
the second one is to hack your phone =P
you can use the tool that you can download in here
you can follow the instruction in there...

PS : not working with some newer firmware.. like N82 v30, e71 v110..

The touch and QWERTY enabled phone Nokia N97 is supposed to hit the shelves at the March 31st over at Play.com online retailer.
The price tag will be about 720 US$..
It will be nice to see how good is the response for this new flagship phone..

but i think you should copy some icons only not all.. because it's file size is quite big...

like Handy Taskman, Best Taskmanager and Jbak TaskMan...
i prefer the Jbak Taskman because it is simple, powerful, can handle processes, can search for processes, and it's free..

if u have a hacked phone or u do have a certificate than u should download the newest version...
but if u don't u should download the 1.0 version because it's already symbian signed and you can install it freely..

How to install Garmin Mobile XT in s60 devices

first, you can download files from here..

Mirror 1
or
Mirror 2

then u should extract it in a folder..
after that u will see 'copy to MMC root' folder..
open it and you will find 'Garmin' 'private' 'Resource' 'sys' folder..
just copy all of them to your microSD root folder...
and then the final thing to do is install 'GarminMobileXT.sis'

voila....

After you opened MobileXT, you should go to 'Tools' and then 'Settings' and then 'About'..
You should find your Card ID..
Copy your Card ID into the keygen...
And then copy paste the Keygen's output to notepad and save file as SW.UNL
copy SW.UNL file to folder 'Garmin'..
And don't forget to copy your map file to folder 'Garmin'
Voila!
Your mobileXT is 'Ready to Navigate' =)

Tips buat yang hobi Online YM/MSN via HP

hi all.. skrg kan lagi demen online buat chatting di hape nih.. khusus nya pake hape2 canggih ber 3G atau bahkan HSDPA... biasa nya permasalahannya kan hape jadi cepet panas dan batre cepet habis...
saya ada tips buat yg hobi online lewat HP...
simple sih tapi cukup membantu saya dan temen saya...

tips ini untuk yg pake HP 3G.. simple aja...
jangan pake mode 3G... pake aja mode GSM... jadi jangan pake dual mode UMTS/GSM pake GSM aja...
ntar kalau konek biasa nya akan langsung masuk jaringan EDGE... kalau pake nokia maka simbolnya adalah E bukan 3G...

kelebihan EDGE?
1.Hemat batre
2.HP tidak panas
3.Speed sedikit di bawah 3G (384kbps) ( ada EDGE yg 230 kbps, ada yg 296 kbps ) dan masih di atas GPRS...
4.Speed udah lebih dari cukup kalau untuk sekedar main2 di HP entah itu chatting atau pake operamini...

coba aja gan.... pasti ndak panas dan batre lebih hemat...

tested on n82, i780, e71...

tested juga di AXIS and Flash....

kalau pake EDGE, bisa nyaingin Blackberry deh.. apalagi pake yg hemat batre macam i780 dan e71...
online terus... hehehehe...

hasil pengujian

n82 bisa 7-8 jam
e71 bisa >12 jam
i780 juga bisa hampir 24 jam...

kalau pake 3G? 3-4 jam pasti baterai udah mau habis dan HP menjadi panas...
kalau pakai EDGE? HP tetep dingin...

buat yg hobi chatting juga bisa pake Slick...
